Lawrence C. Kelly

President, Chief Executive Officer, Director

Mr. Kelly, a founder of the Company, was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company in November 1996 and was elected to serve as a Director in 2007. Mr. Kelly is responsible for the overall operations of the Company and for managing and integrating all aspects of the Company’s efforts to further its business goals. From August 1995 to October 1996, Mr. Kelly served as the Vice President of Operations and as Assistant to the Chairman of the Company. Prior to his role with the Company, Mr. Kelly served as a consultant to Hunter Environmental Services, Inc. from May 1989 to August 1995. Mr. Kelly holds a B.A. in Business Administration from St. Michael’s College.

William Bishop


Mr. Bishop, currently a Director of the Company, served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of the Company from February 2006 – December 2012. Prior to this role, Mr. Bishop served as a consultant to the Company from January 1995 to February 2006. Mr. Bishop is one of the world’s foremost experts on the solution mining of caverns in salt dome formations. He holds a B.S. in Geology from St. Francis Xavier University, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and has done graduate studies in geology. Mr. Bishop is the former Director of Research and Development of PB-KBB, Inc. In his previous position as Vice President – Engineering, Mr. Bishop was directly responsible for the technical management of PB-KBB’s design, construction and operations projects, which include solution-mining program development, piping and tank storage designs and various product storage projects. In this role, Mr. Bishop was responsible for the design and construction of the 49 solution-mined salt caverns which house the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Snowden Henry

Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Henry joined the Company in 2007 as a project manager. Since then his role has evolved and he participates in the day-to-day operation of the company as well as develops project strategies. Prior to SalTec, Mr. Henry was a business development consultant with experience that ranged from working with the Ministry of Health of Ghana, to developing a marketing campaign for products made with recycled plastics, to business development for an online education company. Mr. Henry has a BA in International Affairs from Lewis & Clark College.

John Duer

Business Development/Counsel

Mr. Duer’s involvement with the Company started in 2010. Mr. Duer is involved in all aspects of the Company’s operations. Previously, Mr. Duer co-founded and led Global Wind Power Systems, Inc., a company engaged in the development, ownership and operation of utility-scale wind and hybrid wind and natural gas projects in the southwestern United States. Mr. Duer’s background includes over twenty years of international energy, finance and business law experience. Mr. Duer currently serves as Of Counsel with Bryan Cave LLP, a global law firm with over 1,000 attorneys. His practice principally focuses on representing corporate and investment fund clients in connection with senior, mezzanine and bond financings, investments, and non-public mergers and acquisitions, with an industry focus on energy transactions (oil and gas and renewables). Before practicing law, Mr. Duer served as a field artillery officer with United States Army units in West Germany and Oklahoma. Mr. Duer received his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1985, his M.S.B.A. from Boston University in 1989 and his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Miami in 1993.

Karen M. Karng

Treasurer and Secretary

Ms. Karng has been the Treasurer of the Company since June 1999, and, prior to becoming Treasurer, she was the Controller of the Company since 1994, and has also been the controller of The Kimberly Company since 1993. Ms. Karng is responsible for preparing and maintaining all of the financial records of the Company. Ms. Karng holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Fairfield University.

Pablo Coballasi

Managing Director PC Capital – SalTec Partner

Mr. Coballasi has supported the Company’s efforts in Mexico since 2000. Over the last 20 years Mr. Coballasi has worked as a private equity investor, investment banker and consultant in the United States and Latin America. For the last 10 years, Mr. Coballasi help built the PC Capital franchise into one of Mexico’s leading middle market investment banking practices and a pioneer growth equity private equity investment firm in the country. Being responsible for the firm’s investment banking practice, Mr. Coballasi has sourced and executed restructures, buy side and sell side mandates for leading private equity firms, corporations and families. He is also a member of the investment committee of PC Capital’s Mexico Development I fund. Before PC Capital, Mr. Coballasi served as Vice President of FondElec Capital Advisors in Stanford CT, one of the first private equity firms to invest in Latin America, where he helped managed a PE portfolio of over US$600MM of mainly energy and telecom investments in Brazil, Mexico and the United States. Before FondElec, Mr. Coballasi worked as a consultant for Deloitte Consulting/Braxton Associates and served clients in Mexico, Argentina, Central America and the United States. Mr. Coballasi holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.

Vicente Capriles

Managing Director PC Capital – Saltec Partner

Mr. Capriles joined PC Capital in 2014 to lead the Firm’s Energy Practice.  For the last 6 years, Mr. Capriles served as VP of Corporate Development at Suelopetrol, an Oil & Gas independent company focused in Exploration and Production of Hydrocarbons. During this time he was a board member and the designated official representing the company in several businesses where the group held interest including Oil & Gas ventures in Mexico, USA, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. Besides having direct exposure to day to day operations, Mr. Capriles was thoroughly involved in planning and execution of multi-billion dollar projects, asset bidding rounds, JVs, farm-ins/outs, divestures, E&P contract negotiations with government officials, corporate finance, project financing and business unit profitability turnaround initiatives. Previously Mr. Capriles was a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group’s New York and Mexico City Offices, specializing in Industrial Goods and Financial Services, executing growth strategy projects, market opportunity analyses, competitive benchmarking and post-merger integrations. Mr Capriles holds a Civil Engineering degree from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Bayard Henry


Mr. Henry has been an independent investor since 1972. His involvement in SalTec dates back to 1999. Mr. Henry was elected a Director of the Company in 2008. Mr. Henry previously served as Group Vice President, Credit and Loan Division for State Street Bank and Trust Company in Boston MA. Former Directorships include: Samuel Cabot Company, Inc. (mfr. coatings and stains); Fiduciary Trust Company, (Boston); Ground Water Technology, Inc. (underground hydrocarbon spill remediation); John Hancock Mutual Funds (17 funds); Transatlantic Capital Corp. (President and Director).

Richard S. Perkins, Jr.


Mr. Perkins, a founder of the Company, has been a Director of the Company since October 1996. He is a Senior Vice President of Winslow, Evans & Crocker, Inc. (money managers and brokers), and is also a private investor. From 1984 through 1988, he served as Vice President of Drexel, Burnham and Lambert and L.F. Rothschild, both brokerage firms. From 1988 to 2001, Mr. Perkins served as a Managing Director with Reynders Gray & Co., a brokerage firm. From 1975 to 1984, Mr. Perkins co-founded and operated two publishing companies. Mr. Perkins is a Director of Evercel, Inc., a publicly traded company engaged in diversified operations. Mr. Perkins is also a Director of microMetals Corporation, a privately held company engaged in metalizing various materials for the electronics industry.

John E. Kimberly


Mr. Kimberly, brother of Oliver Kimberly, has been a Director of the Company since July 1997. He is a geologist and is currently the President of Grand Banks Energy Company, a company that is involved in the exploration for and production of oil and gas.
